CONCRETE PLANTER CARE & MAINTENANCE

Concrete is a natural, durable material with rich surface variations and textures that evolve beautifully over time. To ensure the long life and performance of your Möbius concrete products, we recommend the following care and maintenance practices:

GENERAL GUIDELINES

INSTALLATION & DRAINAGE

  • Planters should be able to drain and breathe—they are not intended to hold standing water.
  • Keep drainage holes clear and unblocked so water can exit freely.
  • If placing on a flat surface, use a stand or feet to promote airflow underneath and prevent moisture from being trapped under the base.

CLEANING

  • Use a soft cloth or sponge with warm water and mild, pH-neutral soap.
  • Avoid abrasive scrubbers, acidic cleaners, and harsh chemicals (such as bleach or ammonia), as they can etch or discolor the surface.
  • Rinse with clean water regularly to remove dirt, salts, and pollutants for outdoor use.

STAIN PREVENTION

  • Wipe up spills promptly, especially those containing acidic substances like citrus, vinegar, or wine.

OUTDOOR EXPOSURE

  • Möbius concrete products are engineered to perform in all climates.
  • Avoid standing water, especially on flat horizontal surfaces.

AGING & PATINA

  • Surface variation, minor crazing, and tonal shifts are natural characteristics of concrete and should be embraced as part of its evolving beauty.
  • Regular cleaning and resealing help maintain a uniform finish, but will not eliminate natural patina.

SEALING

  • Most Möbius products are factory-sealed for stain and moisture resistance.
  • Reapply a concrete-safe solvent-based acrylic sealer every 3 - 5 years or as needed in high-use or outdoor environments.
  • First, test sealers in an inconspicuous area, and follow the manufacturer’s instructions.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS FOR POLISHED FINISHES

  • Avoid placing sharp objects directly on the surface.
  • Do not drag heavy items across polished concrete tops.
  • Clean with a microfiber cloth to reduce the risk of micro-abrasions.
